The Canary Islands dragon tree, like its close relative, the Socotra dragon tree, is a member of the asparagus family. It is well known for its striking umbrella-like appearance and has long been used and valued by people living within its natural range.
Arborescent plant with a thick trunk, whose younger specimens do not branch and have smooth bark, showing only slight reticulated marks. The leaves are greyish-green and emerge from the end of the trunk and branches. It grows on steep slopes, from which it can filter water. It is widely grown as an ornamental plant and houseplant, valued for its richly coloured, evergreen and thick leaves.

Dracaena Draco thrives in a sunny or partly shaded position.Water gently to keep the soil moist. Avoid watering the tip of the plant.It requires well-drained soil rich in organic matter.15 – 30 °CApply organic fertilizers during the growing season.
