Tabebuia rosea, also known as Pink poui, Pink tecoma, Rosy trumpet tree, is a wide upright evergreen or deciduous tree with a long smooth trunk. Leaves are oblongs to ovate-elliptic, leathery, scaly and mid- to dark green in color. Funnel-shaped, white, pink or lilac flowers with yellow eyes fading to white are produced.
In general, Tabebuia makes an excellent shade, lawn, or street tree, or border plant. Well suited to the coastal garden. Flowers are spring flowers are bell-shaped. Grow where soil is moist and fertile in full sun. Planted along road sides or in parks, the tree provides shade. Flowers are spectacular, and form a pink carpet on the ground around the tree when they fall.
