Dischidia ovata, the Watermelon Dischidia, is a creeping epiphyte found from South East Asia to North Australia. It is often referred to as a String of Melons as the leaves look like watermelons growing on a vine. In good light, the newer leaves will develop a beautiful red tint. Dischidia is epiphytic and grows best in a coarse, free draining soil mix and has similar care requirements to Hoya. They do not require watering very often at all.
House plants can help improve our physical health and well-being by filtering harmful pollutants from the air inside our homes.
