This tropical and evergreen tree belongs to the genus Mangifera and family Anacardiaceae. The long, narrow foliage adds an instant exotic feel to the landscape and looks great whether in a mixed border or just a single tree in a large patio planter.
Mango fruit is best peeled and eaten fresh, in fruit salad, or blended into sauces and smoothies. A great tropical look in any location. Perfect for border plantings or as a specimen. Grows well in large containers on porches, patios or even indoors if given a sunny location.
- Mango trees require full sun, meaning at least eight hours of direct sunlight on most days.Water when the soil starts to become slightly dry. Do not let the tree sit in soggy soil.These trees can tolerate a variety of soil types. But a sandy loam that's light and well-draining is best.20 – 45 °CA slow-release balanced fertilizer can be applied in poor soil conditions, following label instructions.
