  • Disclaimer
  • The Rhoeo Discolor is also known as Rhoeospathacea. Tradescantia, a compact, attractive houseplant, can also be grown outside in warmer climates. This Tradescantia variety is commonly known as the Mosses-in the-Cradle plant. Its pretty, boat-shaped bracts cradle small white blooms.

The plant has long, slender, dark green, glossy leaves with purple undersides and small pink or white flowers. It also has a lovely rosette shape, and it overgrows. It can also grow well in containers, making it ideal for people with limited experience growing houseplants.

  • Sun Light
The tradescantia spathacea plant does best with bright, indirect light. It can grow in full sun, but it will need some protection from the harsh afternoon sun.
    Water
Rhoeo plants are drought-tolerant, so they are happy to be watered infrequently. In fact, overwatering can cause a plant to rot and die.
    Soil
These plants prefer a fairly rich, well-draining soil with a slightly acidic to neutral soil pH. A sandy loam is perfect, but rocky soil also will do.
    Temperature
    15 – 30 °C
    Fertilizer
Feeding the plant with a balanced and all-purpose fertilizer once in a month is beneficial.
