Tecomaria Capensis is a perennial flowering plant species of the family Bignoniaceae, naturally found in South Africa, and southern areas of Mozambique. Cape honeysuckle flowers are a blazing orange hue, sure to brighten up your tropical garden. Cape honeysuckle provides a welcome burst of color to the late season landscape.
This rambling evergreen is incredibly heat tolerant and easy to care for. The clusters of bright tubular flowers are a magnet for hummingbirds and butterflies. Plant near a porch or patio to enjoy the visitors up close! It typically also spreads to the same area as its height and feature long, slightly serrated, and oppositely arranged pinnate leaves. Water your Cape honeysuckle weekly if you are growing it in full sun, or just once or twice a month if it is in shade.
Rich, Chalky, sandy and nutrient-dense soil is good for the health of the plant.
