This perennial herb is a member of the Composite flower family Asteraceae and hails. Wedelia is a plant that has some very mixed reviews, and rightly so. While praised by some for its small, bright yellow flowers and ability to prevent erosion, it is also reviled by others for its aggressive spreading tendencies.
Wedelia is a very attractive plant because of its nearly constant and prolific blooming. It will grow and thrive almost anywhere as long as the weather is warm enough. The plant is extremely tough and can handle pruning almost down to the ground. There is no limit to the potential spread of the plant. It will reproduce, grow and spread wherever there is space.
- This invasive plant thrives in part shade to full sun.Wedelia once established does well with little or no water or lots of water.Although the plant requires well-drained fertile soil, it can grow in poor soil as well.15 – 35 °CSince ground cover plants grow in close competition for nutrients, they should be fertilized regularly with standard liquid fertilizer.
